Good Morning Sunshine // Hello!
A little background about my blog, I first published my first blogpost in December 2014. It’s been around 2 years since my last post. If I get into the reasons behind what happened, I’d be finished with a novel. So, let’s just sum it up with this: a mild hurricane tumbled into my life and decided to create whirlwind my mental and physical being.
But a large part of it was because creating content for my blog and YouTube started to feel like a chore. It felt like an obligation. At that time, I didn’t really know who I was. I was like water that morphed into whatever vessel I occupied. Thus, I was creating content that I assumed people would like. I felt pressured to create my content it in a manner that would attract people’s attention. At that time, their responses and the numbers that was raised by it was the vessel I decided would validate my actions.
It was like a major blackout struck Chilli (Chilli is my brain. Yes, I made it up whilst writing this just roll with it please? Thanks).
Chilli was exhausted, was trying to adapt to a new environment, was trying to figure herself out, trying to find out what her passions were, was saying yes to the wrong things and no to the right things. In conclusion, It was all just a bit much. And so I took a break. What was supposed to be a week break turned to months, months to years.
I’m starting this blog again because just when I thought the whole blogging era is dead and has passed, I was proven wrong. I realised something that I have looked past all this time, hence the reason for this blog awakening:
Blogs are not dead, and is in fact still a very powerful tool.
I’ve been looking through many blogs, especially personal blogs. Personal blogs to me are the ultimate source to gain knowledge, inspiration and insight from an individual. Unlike Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms, in your blog you have absolute freedom to create and express yourself!
There is no restrictions to what you can/cannot write, showcase or design. You can be as creative as you want, as loud, as quiet, as crazy, as calm as whatever your heart pleases.
Your posts can also be structured and so it’s much more organised and accessible, your posts doesn’t get swallowed up as easily as 1 Instagram post or tweet.
So, on this very gloomy and gabut day, I decided to commit myself on this journey and choose to look at blogging from a different perspective. I choose to not see the intimidating aspects of it, but I choose to see the possibilities. Possibility to share my knowledge, to document my life, to gain insights, to push my creative boundaries and many explorable opportunities to come.
Wish me luck!
